Rome Tennis Center
Rome Tennis Center at Berry College
HGOR contributed to the planning, design and construction guidance of the Tennis Center. The fifty-one USTA standard courts will include six NCAA regulation courts, one court with the option of stadium seating and twelve courts with the flexibility to serve players ten and under. A large clubhouse will provide space for meetings and events as well as locker rooms.
The terraced design strategically takes advantage of the eighty foot drop over thirty acres, allowing for expansive views of rolling hills, wetlands and streams. Even with the large topography change, the final plan exceeds ADA standards and does not include any stairs. The facility will be the largest tennis facility in the state, allowing for Rome to host large tournaments, bringing more visitors to the area. The donation of the land by Berry College will increase the economic growth of the area and most likely enable expansion of the Tennis Center to include indoor courts, a hotel and retail area.
