Clemson University South Ravenel
Clemson University South Ravenel Master Plan
HGOR was engaged to create a master plan for the recreational use of a 32-acre parcel of Clemson’s campus known as South Ravanel. Through several days of workshops, HGOR worked to provide direction as well as a set of assumptions to advance the planning and direction. '
The guiding principles of this master plan were to sensitively guide development to ensure a proper balance of natural parkland beauty, appropriately scaled and functional structures, and plan for critical infrastructure and long-term sustainability.
The master plan was then dissected into construction projects for phased implementation. The planning efforts quickly adopted Clemson University’s history as a “campus on a lake” into a future as a “campus with a lake running through it.”
