Georgia Institute of Technology McCamish Pavilion
Dubbed the “Thrillerdome” for its many dramatic last-minute finishes, this 9,000+ seat arena dates to 1956 and is one of the nation’s best college facilities. HGOR worked, in conjunction with sports architecture firm, Populous, to connect the eight-acre site more dynamically with the rest of campus and the surrounding community. Located in lively West Midtown, the new entry design energizes student, visitor and VIP gateways, echoing pedestrian-friendly neighborhood streetscapes. Environmentally advanced elements such as integrated stormwater filtration offer serene green space amid an urban setting.
